Experiencing “fatal error” within the software when the printer is in its ready state

“Fatal Error” are issues occurring during loss of communication events.

In order to drive the Epson printer and especially the measurement device, constant latencies below 1ms are required. 2 or 3ms are usually OK but any ping time beyond that, indicates insufficient quality of the connection between printer and PC to ensure a stable operation.

Proofs are failing verification and/or media calibration is required.

Proofs usually fail due to 1 of 2 reasons, it’s either software or hardware related.

Normally, if your inks are expired (especially primary colors), it will cause a color shift and your proofs will fail. In other cases, you might be experiencing print quality issues and blocked nozzles that do not recover after performing cleans - this usually relates to issues with your printhead and/or capping station.
